John Lewis Memoir Sells out Hours After Trump Attack
Rep. John Lewis’ memoir sold out on Amazon just hours after President-elect Donald Trump attacked him on Twitter.
The Hill reports:
The civil rights icon’s memoir, “Walking in the Wind: A Memoir of the Movement,” quickly sold out after Trump claimed the Georgia Democrat was “all talk, talk, talk — no action or results.”
Lewis’s memoir details his experiences growing up and becoming a leader during the civil rights movement.
Another book by Lewis, a graphic novel trilogy called “March,” quickly rose to Amazon’s best-sellers list on Saturday, Entertainment Weekly reported.
Lewis said in an interview on Friday that he does not believe Trump is a “legitimate president.”
Trump’s response to Lewis was met with a storm of bipartisan criticism, as a host of Democrats and Republicans called out Trump for targeting a prominent civil rights leader and fellow politician.
