Trump Inaugural TV Ratings Lower Than Obama, Reagan: Report

Donald Trump had a larger inauguration crowd than Bill Clinton and both George Bushes, but a smaller inauguration crowd than Barack Obama and Ronald Reagan.

The Hill reports:

President Trump’s inauguration ratings fell below the first inauguration numbers of former President Ronald Reagan and Barack Obama, according to Nielsen data examined by Bloomberg.

Trump’s nearly 31 million television audience came 7 million short of Obama’s 2009 inauguration, and had almost 11 million fewer viewers than when Reagan was sworn into office in 1981.

According to Bloomberg, Trump did attract a larger audience than former Presidents Bill Clinton, George H. W. Bush and George W. Bush.

According to the data, Fox News had the largest television audience of 8.4 million viewers between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. NBC averaged 5.8 million viewers, ABC 4.9 million and CBS had an audience of 4.6 million.

The data also showed that CNN had an average of 2.5 million viewers while MSNBC had 1.35 million viewers during the same time slot, according to Bloomberg.
