Melissa McCarthy Returns as Sean Spicer on ‘SNL,’ Pitching Ivanka Trump’s Clothing Line
SNL continues to mock the Trump administration over their gaffes.
The Hill reports:
Melissa McCarthy was back playing White House press secretary Sean Spicer on “Saturday Night Live” for its latest show, mocking the controversy over Nordstrom’s decision to drop Ivanka Trump’s clothing line.
McCarthy as Spicer listed the decision during a mock press conference among terrorist “instances and incidents” that the press is “not reporting on.”
“Nordstrom’s decided to stop selling Ivanka Trump’s line of clothing and accessories,” she said, giving a thumbs down.
“That’s Nordstrom’s loss, because these are high, high-quality products.
In fact, I’m wearing one of her bangles right now, “ she added, displaying a bracelet.
“It’s beautiful, it’s shimmery, it’s elegant. And it’s $39.99? It’s unbelievably affordable. OK?” she said.
“And don’t get me started on her shoes,” she added, lifting her foot, “because these babies are a real head turner.”
President Trump last week slammed Nordstrom for dropping his daughter’s clothing line, tweeting that she had been “treated so unfairly.”
His senior adviser, Kellyanne Conway, then sparked controversy by promoting Ivanka Trump’s line of clothing and accessories during an appearance on “Fox & Friends.”
“Go buy Ivanka’s stuff, is what I would tell you.” Conway said. “I hate shopping but I’m going to go get some for myself today.”
A former top Obama administration official accused Conway of breaking the law with those comments.
