Miley Cyrus Lights Up Dutchie At EMAs In Amsterdam
Proving how naturally she can spark up a Dutch crowd, Miley Cyrus was met with roaring cheers after smoking what appeared to be marijuana at the MTV European Music Awards in Amsterdam. The actress-turned-diva lit up onstage after receiving the best music video award for her single “Wrecking Ball.”
“I couldn’t fit this award in my bag but I did find this, so thank you guys very much,” Cyrus said after setting down her award and pulling a joint out of her purse.
In fact, the controversial artist isn’t known for shying away from any type of drug. “I think weed is the best drug on earth,” she said in a Rolling Stone interview. “One time I smoked a joint with peyote in it, and I saw a wolf howling at the moon. Hollywood is a coke town, but weed is so much better. And molly, too.”
Learning from her infamous “twerking” exhibition at the Music Video Awards, MTV edited out footage of Cyrus actually smoking, showing only bits of her putting down the award, reaching into her purse for no reason and then leaving.
Parents Television Council president Tim Winter expressed relief in MTV’s decision. “Last night MTV made a responsible decision and they executed it perfectly,” he said. “We applaud MTV for taking responsible actions to eliminate the drug use from its U.S. broadcast, and we urge them to make that a uniform policy for all of its programming.”
As of yet, neither MTV nor Cyrus’ representatives have made any official comment.
The former Disney actress, however, made sure to voice her excitement on Twitter.
