SECOND Pastor Arrested for Child Rape in One Week, This Time a 5-YEAR-OLD
A former Tennessee pastor has been arrested and charged with the rape of a child.
According to police captain Kate Novitsky, the child came forward on Friday, claiming to have been raped by 49-year-old pastor Randy Giulliani. Giulliani has been charged with rape of a child and aggravated sexual battery.
He is currently being held on $200,000 bond in Sumner County Jail with his return to court scheduled for May 7.
Giulliani had reportedly worked as a pastor at a local church in Rutherford County but few details have been released to the public.
The girl, now 14 years old, claims that she was raped starting when she was just 5 years old.
This case comes on the heels of another southern pastor arrested on rape charges. Just last week, William Best Jr., a pastor at Alabama’s Living Waters Worship Center in Dallas County, was arrested for raping a family member for three years inside his own church, starting from the time the victim was 14 years old.
Rick Barrett, the chairman of the Living Waters Worship Center’s board of directors, said Best had come to them “highly recommended” from another county and added that “this isn’t what the church is about, and they have a congregation of loving, caring people.”
Best is being held on $2 million bond, the highest ever set for his charges. The pastor is charged with rape, sodomy, and incest. Police have also confiscated his computer, alleging that there are likely to be pornographic images of the victim on the hard drive. If that turns out to be correct, Best will also face additional charges relating to taking and possessing pornographic images of a minor.
