Jon Stewart Rips GOP Impeachment Threats: ‘All This Talk of Tyranny is Bullsh*t’

On Thursday, Daily Show host Jon Stewart took aim at Republicans calling for President Obama’s impeachment, mocking them for calling Obama a “tyrant.”

Stewart said the Republicans talk tough about Obama but never follow up with any impeachment proposals because they know that would just push more voters against them.

“That’s how you know all this talk of tyranny is bullshit,” he said. “When your main concern when you’re deposing a tyrant is how it will affect your party’s chances in the upcoming midterm elections, that’s not tyranny.”

Stewart turned to Sarah Palin who recently said the influx of illegal immigrants at our border is the “last straw that makes the battered wife say, ‘No mas.’”

“If I may, it appears ex-Governor Palin has finally finished mangling the English language, and has moved on to making Spanish incomprehensible,” Stewart quipped. “She’s like a serial killer of language. Or whatever the opposite of Rosetta Stone is.”

He then turned to John Boehner, mocking him for suing Obama for not implementing Obamacare, a bill the Republicans staunchly opposed, fast enough.

“Let me get this straight,” Stewart said. “The GOP is going to take down our dictator-in-chief with a civil suit accusing him of not properly executing a law they themselves have tried more than 50 times to partly or completely repeal.”

The bright side in all of this, Stewart said, was that the lawsuit would at least mean Obama and the Republicans would have to interact.

“Finally, we the people will be represented by our elected representatives’ legal representation,” he said. “As the Founding Fathers envisioned when they were tripping on mushrooms.”
