Tom Tancredo: If Obama’s Not Impeached, ‘Join a Militia’ and ‘Stock Up’ on Guns

Former Colorado congressman Tom Tancredo has written a new column for ultra-right-wing “news” site WorldNetDaily, calling for the GOP to impeach President Obama and calling on supporters to “join a militia” if they don’t.

“Even many in the Democratic establishment are admitting that general amnesty by edict is unconstitutional and, as such, is an impeachable offense,” Tancredo writes. “The Republican establishment – and the conservative establishment as well – is virtually unanimous in saying, yes, it is an impeachable offense, but it is a trap, so we must not talk about impeachment.”

“That argument is tantamount to saying that even if Obama burned the American flag on the White House lawn, we must look the other way and pretend it is a summer picnic because the Democratic base might get offended,” Tancredo quips.

“We are no longer debating what is an impeachable offense; we are being asked to look away and pretend the Constitution is not being shredded,” he writes. “Our answer must be: Sorry, but that is not something allowed by the genetic code of patriots.”

“The truth is impeachment will NEVER be the safest course or the smartest course for the political establishment, but it is the necessary course for the survival of the U.S. Constitution even if ultimately rejected by the U.S. Senate after a fair trial,” Tancredo argues. “We must make the case for impeachment to demonstrate that no man is above the law, not even the first black president. If we do not make that case, we are betraying the Constitution and degrading our children’s inheritance.”

“There is an additional reason we must call Obama’s bluff on impeachment,” Tancredo adds. “The time is now, not later, to accept the challenge presented by the threat to ‘energize the Democratic base.’ Are we really that afraid that the Democrat base can be rallied in support of blatantly unconstitutional acts but that the Republican base cannot be motivated and energized to respond in kind? Are we really that afraid to challenge presumptuous dictatorial behavior? If so, then the war is already lost and we should all stock our ammunition shelves and join a militia.”

Tom, do you understand what “the militia” is? For God’s sake, think of the shame you bring on your family…on anyone unfortunate enough to bear your family name…when you babble like you do. Do you think that it’s funny, embarrassing your kin?
Go home, Tom, and lock your doors and play in the dark with your bullets.

I’m from Colorado and up until now I’ve never been completely embarrassed by one of our politicians. You think spewing this kind of unfounded hate and fear is good for our country. My God, wake up you dimwitted idiot. If your so afraid why don’t you leave this made up persecution infested country that you’ve created with your bullshit. Thinking people don’t take you seriously, they think you’ve jumped on the crazy train!

You know what Tom? I hate it when I see people burning the American flag here in the U.S., it makes my blood boil. However, at the same time it makes me happy and proud to be an American. Why?, you might ask. Whenever I see an American burning a U.S. flag and not being attacked, arrested, prosecuted, or imprisoned for it, I know that our constitutional right to free speech is being protected and remains in tact. I love our flag, but the day it is deemed to be more important than freedom of speech is the day this country is doomed.

I am weary of having MY political views constantly disrespected by radical wingnut Rethuglicans calling for impeachment of President Obama, for whom I voted proudly, twice. They have no cause, and the fact that they are in constant denial that way better than 50% of Americans preferred Obama to their candidates is highly insulting to the Democratic majority.Do they now believe that the Presidency is a throne,to be passed from one Rethuglican to the next?It seems they do,since they keep accusing Obama of “behaving like a king,”an insult which is NOT TRUE.They all have a case of Obama Derangement Syndrome that will take another 2-1/2 years to be cured.

Why don’t these a*holes just come out and say – I hate the fact that there is a black man in the white house cause I am a bigoted hateful jerk. At least be honest because you know we all know anyway.

I am so embarrassed that Tancredo is from Colorado! Thinking he belongs to KKK or some type of Racist organization here. I’m with you Debra… that’s the only reason why they want Obama impeached is because he is black.

There is something that some have called Obama derangement syndrome. I guess it must exist as some of psychiatric disorder. Saying these extreme things must be one of the symptoms. What will they do when his term is over? And do they realize that Joe Biden would take over if Obama had to leave office? Do they realize that Impeachment is not the final step, but only the first step. Nixon didn’t even get that far. He resigned before even this step was taken. But I remember the hearings being broadcast for months on PBS, leading up to a possible Impeachment. By the time they would go through the entire process, Obama’s term would be over anyway.

Couldn’t this be deemed an act of Sedition? Shouldn’t the FBI look into this??
