GOP Candidate: Democrats Trying to ‘Outlaw Christianity,’ Force Christians to ‘Worship Sodomy’

Republican Colorado State House candidate Gordon Klingenschmitt is upset over a New York court ruling that fined a wedding business for denying service to a same-sex couple and is warning his followers that “literally the court is banning Christian worship.”

“Christians are fined $13,000 and may no longer celebrate the Christian sacrament of marriage in their own home, unless they also host lesbian weddings” he wrote. “Literally the court is banning Christian worship, saying these Christian farmers cannot worship Christ during a wedding, unless they also worship and participate equally in sodomy in their own home. They are now coming into our homes, and dictating our worship. This unconstitutional policy, to punish Christians (with no religious exemptions) will be law in all 50 states, if ENDA is passed.]”

In another email to followers, Klingenschmitt said that Democrats in Congress are also “literally trying to outlaw Christianity.” Literally.

“Democrats are literally trying to outlaw Christianity,” he claimed. “Think about that. They now hate religious freedom so much, they’re voting to reverse the 1993 Religious Freedom Restoration Act, which back then was passed 97 to 3 by nearly all Democrats in the U.S. Senate. Today only 42 Republicans defend Christianity. Wow.”

Last month, Klingenschmitt sent out yet another email, accusing openly gay Congressman Jared Polis of wanting to behead Christians.

“The open persecution of Christians is underway,” he wrote. “Democrats like Polis (D-CO) want to bankrupt Christians who refuse to worship and endorse his sodomy. Next he’ll join ISIS in beheading Christians, but not just in Syria, right here in America.”

Literally?
