GOP Candidate: Democrats Trying to ‘Outlaw Christianity,’ Force Christians to ‘Worship Sodomy’

Republican Colorado State House candidate Gordon Klingenschmitt is upset over a New York court ruling that fined a wedding business for denying service to a same-sex couple and is warning his followers that “literally the court is banning Christian worship.”

“Christians are fined $13,000 and may no longer celebrate the Christian sacrament of marriage in their own home, unless they also host lesbian weddings” he wrote. “Literally the court is banning Christian worship, saying these Christian farmers cannot worship Christ during a wedding, unless they also worship and participate equally in sodomy in their own home. They are now coming into our homes, and dictating our worship. This unconstitutional policy, to punish Christians (with no religious exemptions) will be law in all 50 states, if ENDA is passed.]”

In another email to followers, Klingenschmitt said that Democrats in Congress are also “literally trying to outlaw Christianity.” Literally.

“Democrats are literally trying to outlaw Christianity,” he claimed. “Think about that. They now hate religious freedom so much, they’re voting to reverse the 1993 Religious Freedom Restoration Act, which back then was passed 97 to 3 by nearly all Democrats in the U.S. Senate. Today only 42 Republicans defend Christianity. Wow.”

Last month, Klingenschmitt sent out yet another email, accusing openly gay Congressman Jared Polis of wanting to behead Christians.

“The open persecution of Christians is underway,” he wrote. “Democrats like Polis (D-CO) want to bankrupt Christians who refuse to worship and endorse his sodomy. Next he’ll join ISIS in beheading Christians, but not just in Syria, right here in America.”

Literally?

    You’re off your hinges, buddy.

      How am I off my hinges? Freedom Of Religion {That also to include the freedom to worship any of the 100 or more Religion out there, and the freedom to change religion or not to follow any religion at all.} is JUST THAT! and the US Government is a SECULAR GOVERNMENT AND NOT A Theocracy Government The word secular, mainly deals with the Religions The Government will not interfere with the rights of any of the Religions in performing their Religious activities. The Government gives equal right to the people of the all the religions. The Government ensure no partiality in dealing with the people, irrespective of their religion. and Theocracy this term refers to a government operated by religious authorities who
      claim unlimited power in the name of God or other supernatural So the USA GOVERNMENT is NOT TRYING to OUTLAW Christianity! it is trying to protect all of it Citizens from those who would PUSH their Religion on the Rest of US!

        Daniel Bidwell – My apologies, there has been a misunderstanding. The comment I wrote was in response to Gordon Klingenschmit’s deranged ramblings, not your viewpoint. If I recall correctly, mine was the first comment on the page. Fact is, I agree with what you are saying.

          oh ok

  • Daniel Bidwell

    NO what the Democrats are trying to do is KEEP Freedom Of Religion {That also to include the freedom to worship any of the 100 or more Religion out there, and the freedom to change religion or not to follow any religion at all.} the USA is a Secular Government!! America wasn’t founded as a Christian nation and many of our beloved Forefathers sadly were not, yet America was largely comprised of Believers. Liberty allows us to worship freely or not at all per conscience. America was never meant to be theocratic or homogenous religiously, but Christianity has always been indelible to our social fabric. The Constitutional framers intended this nation to have a government strictly neutral regarding religion. The Founders, even non-Believers, considered that a blessing. {see The Treaty of Tripoli 1796/1797}
