Teacher Told Class Her Top ‘Bucket List’ Item Is To ‘Kill All Black People’
A North Carolina teacher is in hot water after she reportedly told a student that one of the items on her “bucket list” is to “kill all black people.”
Kimberly Ashcraft says her child’s math teacher at Camden County High School, Cynthia Ramsey, was discussing bucket lists during lunch.
“She conveyed to me that Mrs. Ramsey had indicated that if she only had 10 days to live that she would kill all black people,” Ashcraft told WAVY.
“I was completely shocked,” Ashcraft says. “I asked her again, ‘Are you sure that was what you heard?’ I could not have imagined a teacher saying that.”
Officials say Ramsey was suspended without pay after other students confirmed Ashcraft’s account but was back in the classroom after a couple of days.
“I was very disappointed to hear that she was back in the classroom so soon,” Ashcraft said.
The superintendent says that the district will investigate the incident but that all details are confidential while the investigation is pending.
Raw Story reports that the county sheriff is also investigating the incident and will turn over evidence to the district attorney who will decide whether Ramsey should face criminal charges.
