New England Patriots Run Twitter Promo Featuring Jersey Saying ‘I Hate N*ggers’

Just because someone participates in your Twitter promotion, doesn’t mean you should retweet it.

The New England Patriots celebrated becoming the first NFL team to get one million followers on Twitter by posting images of users’ Twitter handles on the back of their jersey and were quickly forced to apologize after tweeting one featuring “@IHATENIGGERSS.”

The Pats later deleted the Tweet, saying, “We apologize for the regrettable tweet that went out from our account. Our filtering system failed & we will be more vigilant in the future.”

“Why you should always have someone screen your auto-replies,” Michael A. Brodeur tweeted. “Oof.”

“Absolutely one of the biggest social media blunders we’ve ever seen,” The Roosevelts tweeted. “Way to go @Patriots.”

John Dabkovich simply tweeted, “Job opening.”
