Gun Lobbyist Larry Platt: Dylann Roof Targeted Church ‘Populated By Liberals’ Because They’d Be Unarmed
Gun Owners of America director Larry Pratt appeared on Armed America Radio last week to claim that Dylann Roof didn’t target a church based on their black congregation but rather targeted a liberal church because he knew they would be unarmed.
“Since this particular church was pastored by a state senator who was Mr. Anti-Gun,” Pratt claimed, “then it became pretty obvious that yep, that was a gun-free zone, a bunch of liberal Democrats in there, and the dirtbag that struck, I think knew exactly was he was doing.”
“There’s be plenty of black churches he that he could have gone into, and he probably could have met effective resistance, but he went to one where it would be know to be populated by liberals, and then he had open season,” Pratt added.
Pratt also blamed the church’s pastor, State Senator Rev. Clementa Pinckney, last month after the attacks on a Houston radio show.
“You had a church where this horrible act was committed, where the pastor was a state senator who was a leading anti-Second Amendment, pro-civilian disarmament sort of guy,” Pratt told host Sam Malone. “It was a gun-free zone, thanks in part to the pastor, the state senator.”
