VIDEO: Alabama Law Firm’s Outrageously Racist Commercial Goes Viral

An Alabama law firm has come under fire for their outrageously racist commercial that has gone viral. Law firm McCutcheon & Hamner released the ad which attempts to comically portray an Asian stereotype, but ends up making the company look extremely bigoted. But even though their name and phone number are on the ad, the firm is denying they had anything to do with it.
In the ad, a man named Jim DeBerry is dressed up in Chinese garb and intentionally closes and slants his eyes. Playing a man named Mr. Wong Fong Shu, he adopts a stereotypical Chinese accent throughout the video. The video was posted to YouTube last month, but has picked up steam recently and racked up 300,000 views in the last week.
DeBerry’s company, Definitive Television, also produced the ad. He took to Twitter once the video went viral and denied having bigoted views of Asians. “To the contrary, I’m not a racist,” he wrote. “I have many friends of various races and a top minority employer.” McCutcheon & Hamner are claiming that they had no involvement in the video and their YouTube account was hacked. “Our firm did not approve the latest advertising commercial,” they said in a statement. “We apologize to anyone who has watched the commercial.”
