Louis Farrakhan: Black People Need Their Own Judicial System
Speaking in front of 18,000 people this past weekend in Detroit, Louis Farrakhan said the current judicial system was racist towards black people and the only way to correct this is to create separate systems for whites and blacks. Farrakhan made the comments while speaking at a Nation of Islam convention. He said that the current judicial system has failed black people so badly that taking corrective measures to fix it is no longer an option.
“We want equal justice under the law. Our people can’t take much more. We have to have our own courts. You failed us,” he said. “Has America been just to us? So…if we retaliate, you can bring out your soldiers. We got some, too.”
Citing the recent case against Trayvon Martin, Zimmerman said it was time for black people to rise up and create a call to action. “How long must we let people stand their ground, shooting us and getting away with it while we don’t get justice?” said Farrakhan. “We want justice. Equal justice under the law. We want the federal government to intercede to see that black people get justice in accordance with the law.”
His comments were echoed by his spokeswoman, Ava Muhammad. She said that black people needed to separate completely from whites and that Farrakhan was even considering using Detroit to create a community exclusively for Nation of Islam members because he has wanted to reinvest in Detroit. Muhammad believed this was essential because “planes are going to destroy every area that is not dominated by Islam.” She was referring to planes that the Nation of Islam believes are in a wheel hovering in the sky.
