Friends of Mike Ruppert: 9/11 Truther’s Suicide Was Not ‘Fake Suicide’, It Was Well Planned

9/11 truther Michael Ruppert has reportedly committed suicide. The 63-year-old ex-cop and investigative reporter is believed to have shot himself after taping his radio show on Sunday, according to reports from his close friends.

Ruppert sparked controversy with his conspiracy theories that linked Wall Street and government agencies for the 9/11 attacks. He also reported on CIA and other government cover-ups on his website From the Wilderness and was the subject of a  2009 documentary, Collapse.

Ruppert also had his share of financial and legal woes in recent years.

In 2006, Ruppert sought a buyer for 4000 copies of his book to prevent them from being auctioned off to pay creditors and save the last remaining copies of his conspiracy-filled book from being scrapped.

His lawyer also posted a notice on the FTW site stating his client was aware he had debts to pay. “Michael Ruppert has every intention of satisfying all legitimate outstanding debts of From The Wilderness Publications, Inc,” Ray Kohlman wrote. “Those creditors and customers with unfilled orders who have not received refunds are asked to maintain complete records.”

The same notice also reports that Ruppert was suffering from ill-health at the time.

“In addition to his previously described symptoms it has been learned that his adrenal system is severely damaged and there may be toxicity of the liver,” his lawyer said, advising the readers it was not a poisoning as had been widely rumored. “He has lost more than 20 pounds in the last ten weeks.”

While some are now pointing to his ill-health and alleged poisoning as a sign Ruppert may have been murdered on Sunday, a close friend said that Ruppert had always had suicidal thoughts and that the gun shot wounds were definitely self-inflicted.

“On one occasion, he confessed to having tied his necktie around his neck as part of an effort to hang himself – and you can be sure I would not put forth such an implausible notion if it were not true – from the shower fixture,” Jenna Orkin insisted on a blog posted to his new website. “He said that he didn’t go through with it because he wished to spare his roommate at the time, Carlos Ruiz, the trauma of finding him the next morning.”

Carolyn Baker also posted a message on his Facebook fan page confirming Ruppert had planned the suicide for a long time. “Sunday night following Mike’s Lifeboat Hour radio show, he was found dead of a self-inflicted gunshot wound,” she wrote. “This was not a “fake” suicide. It was very well planned by Mike who gave us few clues but elaborate instructions for how to proceed without him. His wishes were to be cremated, and as of this moment, there are no plans for a memorial service.”
