Pro-Darren Wilson Fundraiser Nets Nearly $230,000, Second Solidarity Rally Planned for This Weekend

There has been little word from Charles Murray, the so-called Imperial Wizard of the New Empire Knights, who claims that the Ku Klux Klan is planning a mega-fundraiser in Sullivan, MO this weekend.

Yet, despite the fact that the great Klan gathering is looking more and more like a scam, other pro-Darren Wilson supporters have taken up the cause and have been using the internet to rally around the man who killed Michael Brown.

A GoFundMe appeal has attracted over 5900 donors in the first four days since it has launched and garnered over $230,000 in support for the cop.

The appeal was started by a group called ‘Support Darren Wilson’  who say their numbers are “comprised of many people who want to give others the opportunity to support Officer Darren Wilson during this time. Some of us have never met Officer Darren Wilson while others are close family friends or even family themselves.”

The pro-Wilson supporters, which rallied in St. Louis last weekend, also have a Facebook page that has garnered over 55,000 likes from around the world.

One supporter explained that she thinks supporting Darren Wilson is about justice, not race.

“I’m for wearing the shirt in Ferguson,” Manda Standridge wrote on Facebook. “This isn’t about race it’s allowing for the investigation to be complete. Maybe instead of looting stores you should teach your kids about morals values and respect.”

Another wrote that she supports Darren Wilson because his family is suffering just as much as Michael Brown’s family.

“While we are sorry for the family that lost their son, people need to know how much you and your family have lost as well,” Cindy Salmons said. “We pray that God will be with you and protect you and your family and that he will give you the strength you need to endure what lies ahead.”

The group is also planning a second rally for this weekend in St. Louis, complete with hot dogs and t-shirts, to show their support for Wilson and the Ferguson cops.
