Rick Joyner is Hawking Cancer-Stopping Water Filters To Help Christians Stay Healthy During Upcoming Pandemic
On Thursday’s ‘Prophetic Prospective on Current Events,’ Rick Joyner warned that a global pandemic would soon cause massive devastation across the world.
To prepare for the impending deadly diseases sweeping the world, the evangelist told his faithful followers to stock up on food and supplies. He also encouraged them to keep healthier for post-disaster Gospel-spreading by buying special water filters – that he just so happens to have for sale on his website – that will stop people from getting cancer by lowering their body pH.
According to Joyner, nearly everyone at his MorningStar Ministries was walking around with purified water that is free of virtually everything and can magically lower a person’s pH and make them cancer-free.
“You know what that means?” he asked. “When your pH level get down to a certain level, cancer won’t grow. You don’t even have to worry about it. Yep, that is true.”
In other words, according to Joyner, for a $20 water filter available on his website, you can be cancer-free for life.
Unfortunately, Joyner’s claims are not only untrue, the preacher also got the whole pseudo-science behind his claims completely wrong.
The theory, which the American Institute for Cancer Research debunked in 2008, says that higher pH – not lower as Joyner claimed – actually created a hostile-for-cancer environment.
“The unsubstantiated theory is based on lab studies that suggest cancer cells thrive in an acidic (low pH) environment, but cannot survive in alkaline (high pH) surroundings,” the AICR noted. “While these findings are accurate, they apply only to cells in an isolated lab setting.”
So, according to the AICR, even if you bought that Joyner’s water filters could prevent cancer, they would have to actually raise pH to do it (not lower it as he claims).
Thankfully, the AICR also noted that there is little chance Joyner’s water filters – or any other over the counter remedy – are actually doing anything to stop cancer through pH levels at all.
The cancer research organization stressed that “altering the cell environment of the human body to create a less-acidic, less-cancer-friendly environment is virtually impossible,” meaning Joyner’s water filters are no miracle at all.
