Kentucky Write-In Candidate Running on a ‘With Jews We Lose’ Platform
Russell Ransdell is known in his Florence, Kentucky community for being a racist and anti-Semite. He is also a Klansmen who was not afraid to speak to the press.
“That is one thing you guys love to say, ‘it is 2014, how can these racists be out here?’ Well, it is 2014. It has been six or seven decades since white people stood up for themselves and it is about time we start doing so,” he told the local paper at a KKK rally earlier this year.
He also said he planned to be more visible with his White Pride politics. It seems he has followed through.
Although Randall acknowledged to WLWT 5 that he was not likely to win against incumbent Mitch McConnell, he said that he wanted to use the election year to get the word out about his ‘With Jews We Lose’ message.
The write-in candidate also said that a lot of people online appreciate his willingness to speak out.
“Online we have had a lot of positive feedback. Like I said we’re going to find out what kind of feedback we get once we go out and take it to the people here in the state of Kentucky,” Ransdell said.
One local resident, though, said that when she saw the signs it made her sick.
“I could drive by it and act like oh whatever it’s just some idiot but when does one idiot become 20,” Drea said, giving only her first name for fear of retaliation.
WLWT 5 also pointed out the signs were also illegal because they did not provide the required information about who sponsored the message.
They were also on private property and Ransdell failed to get permission from the owner’s to post his anti-Semitic message.
Shortly after his controversial signs first appeared at the Florence intersection, they were taken down.
