Sarah Palin Calls Brawling Bristol a ‘Role Model for Strong Women’

The media was in a tizzy earlier this month when the news broke that the Palin clan had gotten into an all-out brawl during a house party in Alaska.

A witness at the scene said the Bristol, Sarah’s daughter, was duking it out with Korey, the owner of the house.

“What I saw was two girls run past and run towards Korey,” Roberta Thompson said. “And then I just saw Bristol Palin start punching him in the face. It was quite, quite violent.”

Now, despite the fact Bristol was reportedly just in the thick of things and throwing punches, today Sarah Palin took to Facebook to praise the strong woman Bristol has become.

“I love my Bristol! My straight-shooter is one of the strongest young women you’ll ever meet. I have to say this as a proud mama: right up there with their work ethic and heart for those less fortunate, my kids’ defense of family makes my heart soar!,” Palin wrote. “As you can imagine, they and my extended family have experienced so many things (liberal media-driven) that may have crushed others without a strong foundation of faith, and I’m thankful for our friends’ prayer shield that surrounds them, allowing faith to remain their anchor. Thank you, prayer warriors! I love you!”

She also posted a link to a blog Bristol wrote that talked about a Yahoo article that supposedly talked about her parents imaginary divorce, which may refer to gossip surrounding Palin not wearing her wedding band after the brawl, which also happened to be around Todd’s 50th birthday.

“According to some random reporter, my parents are getting divorced…” Bristol wrote, adding, “Of course, the article and most of what the media reports about our family is complete garbage.”

While every mama has a right to be proud of her kid, the fact Sarah is bragging about her daughter and pointing fingers at the liberal media right now makes it look an awful lot like Palin is trying to shift the blame in order to deflect the fact her now grown kid can’t keep her hands to herself.

Her ruse has not gone unnoticed by the public.

“Stop pretending like Bristol is a child. She is an adult who assaulted another adult,” a commenter on TPM wrote, encouraging Palin to fess up to what really happened and stop making excuses for her grown daughter. “It is only fair to victims of assault that we see that justice is done and that perpetrators of violent assault be held accountable for their illegal actions.”
