Michele Bachmann Goes Violent at Values Voters Summit: Secure Our Borders and Kill, Kill, Kill ISIS!

Michele Bachmann started off her turn at the Values Voters Summit by reminding everyone that she was not planning to run again for office.

“As you know, I’m not running again for my seat in the United States Congress,” she said, echoing an announcement made months ago, adding that during her term she worked hard and “kept the faith during these last eight years.”

Her speech was far from a nostalgic romp, though. She had some serious Obama-bashing to do, especially when it came to ISIS and the southern border.

Expressing a sentiment Sarah Palin would later echo the same day, Bachmann wanted everyone to know that Obama was really, really wrong when he wanted people to distinguish between terrorists who use the name of Islam and Muslims.

“Yes, Mr. President, it is about Islam,” she said to cheers.  “And I believe that if you have an evil the order of this magnitude, you take it seriously. You declare war on it, you don’t dance around it, just like the Islamic State has declared war on the United States of America. You kill their leader, you kill their council, you kill their army until they wave the white flag of surrender. That’s how you win a war.”

After her calls for violence, she then launched into a familiar rant that terrorists were sneaking through America’s unsecured southern border, something that – like her theory that Ebola was being brought through the southern border – is not the great conspiracy she is making it out to be.

“President Obama is also ignoring a national major security threat here at home,” she warned.  ” You know what it is. It is our open southern border. I was there for four days in August, and I will tell you, I was floored. I thought I knew a lot about this issue. I was floored to see how wide open, in the midst of all of the heighted terrorism and all the foreign nationals that are streaming across our border, just how porous it is. It is the understatement of the year that our border is not secure.

For the record, according to PoliticFact, despite the fact that conservatives keep saying that the southern border is inviting terrorists in does not make it true. It just makes it a rumor.

Still, Bachmann encouraged others to join in her crusade to kill, kill, kill ISIS and make sure no one gets in through the Mexican border.

“While it’s true that I’m leaving Congress, I want you to know I am not leaving the fight,” she concluded, wanting the Values Voters to still know she was with them.

“I’m there with a smile on my face because I know we serve a God of the possible who can make it happen,” she said to the cheering crowd. “And with people like yourselves, we cannot lose.”
