Thanks Georgia! Far-Right GOPer Jody Hice is Headed to Congress
With election results coming in, it looks like far-right GOPer Jody Hice is headed to Congress.
As of 8:45 EST on Election Day, Pastor Hice had a commanding lead at the polls, garnering well over 60 percent of the vote.
Then by 11 pm, he still held his impressive lead, leading his fellow GOPers to call the race in his favor.
The news, while celebrated by his fellow conservatives, is hardly good news for anyone else.
Here are the some of the most extreme views of Georgia’s new elected official.
Islam is Not a Religion (but Christianity sure is)
Hice regularly cries freedom of religion, but he does not believe that Islam should be protected by the law.
“Although Islam has a religious component, it is much more than a simple religious ideology,” Jody Hice explained in his book. “It is a complete geo-political structure and, as such, does not deserve First Amendment protection.”
The Only Way to Save America is By Pushing (Christian) Religion
While Hice does not think Islam should even have First Amendment protection, he thinks Christianity should be the main source of decision-making for politicians.
“When it comes to the idea of religious liberty it is not constitutional for the state, if you will, just to be neutral towards religion,” he preached on his radio show.
“You remove God and you remove religion,” he further stressed, “and you remove the state from encouraging religious belief and you get more secularism, you get more problems, you get more crime, you get all, whatever, fill in the blank out there.”
The End Times are Near
Jody Hice is convinced that same-sex marriage, transgender rights and anything liberals approve of is a sign of the End Times. He also has proof the end is near. Like others on the far right, he believes that the blood moons seen in the sky this year are a sure-fire sign “world changing events” and the fact God wants a return to conservative values like his.
