30-year-old George Zimmerman was arrested again after a disturbance call on Monday around 1 p.m. in Florida. Authorities said the arrest was for domestic violence, involving a girlfriend of Zimmerman. Seminole County Sheriff transported Zimmerman to the John E. Polk Correctional Facility where he will be booked.
Zimmerman was acquitted earlier this summer for the death of 17-year-old Travyon Martin. Since that trial, Zimmerman had several run in with the law. He was pulled over several times by police for speeding. In one of the incident, he alerted police that he had a gun. His permit was re-instated after the trial so he was legally entitled to possess and transport a weapon.
In September, he was arrested when his estranged wife, Shellie Zimmerman, called the police after he threaten her and her father. He claimed that he acted in defense and no guns were found in that incident.
The Seminole County Sherriff’s Office said Zimmerman and another man saved a family who became trapped when their SUV rolled over in July. According to Zimmerman’s lawyer, Mark O’Mara, the family he saved did not want to be associated with him.
